About the position of Mechanical Engineer
What to expect of the Mechanical Engineer position within Huisman?

All design and production activities are carried out in-house, and we deliver turnkey solutions to our customers. What do we expect of you?
As a Mechanical Engineer, you contribute to potential project innovations and proactively support the further development of our engineering capabilities.
Your responsibilities include:
- Modelling (FEM) and performing calculations for mechanical designs of heavy (offshore) systems;
- Developing system-level, basic and detailed designs;
- Defining specifications for purchased components;
- Designing with a focus on material efficiency, dimensions and weight, functional lifetime, and maintenance accessibility;
- Performing detailed calculations to optimise and further refine designs.

You have:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering;
- 2–5 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer within the offshore or maritime sector, or in heavy steel industries;
- A strong affinity with, or keen interest in, complex mechanical systems;
- The ability to adapt quickly to new requirements and to set priorities effectively.
Some practical things we need you to have:
- An EU passport/valid work permit for The Netherlands;
- A good command of the English language verbally and in writing.
