About the position of Working Student Travel

What to expect of the Working Student Travel position within Huisman?

 As a Working Student Travel at Huisman, you play a key role in ensuring the smooth organisation of international travel for our employees. You make sure colleagues are fully prepared before they travel. You support the Travel team by processing travel requests in the portal and handling them from start to finish. This includes booking flights, arranging accommodation and hiring cars for colleagues from our Schiedam office, as well as regularly supporting employees from our international locations. 

In addition, you arrange the required medical examinations and apply for visas when necessary. In short, you take care of everything an employee needs for a worry-free domestic and international trip. 

You will also support the team with daily administrative and organisational tasks. Working hours are flexible, making this role easy to combine with your studies. 

What do we expect of you?

We are looking for students who take initiative and enjoy contributing their own ideas. You are not afraid of challenges and have an eye for detail when it comes to planning and administrative processes. In addition, you bring energy and enthusiasm and have an interest in travel and international environments. We are looking for bright minds who like to make things run smoothly.

Wondering if you are 'equipped for impact'?

You are: 

  • An MBO or HBO student in Human Resources, Hospitality & Tourism, or a similar field of study; 
  • Available for a minimum of 20–24 hours per week, with availability required on Wednesdays and Fridays; 
  • Energetic and enthusiastic, with an interest in tourism. 

You have: 

  • A proactive attitude; 
  • An affinity with tourism; 
  • Experience with Excel; knowledge of IATA is an advantage; 
  • A hands-on mentality and a strong sense of initiative; 
  • The ability to adapt quickly to new situations and to prioritise effectively; 
  • A strong willingness to learn. 

Deadline and application process: 

  • The application deadline is 15-02-2026; 
  • After this date, we will commence the selection process. Selected candidates will be invited for an initial interview. The vacancy may be closed earlier if a suitable application is received; 
  • The first interview is scheduled to take place in week 9. 
     

Some practical things we need you to have:

  • An EU passport/valid work permit for The Netherlands; 
  • A good command of the English language verbally and in writing.
