About the position of HR Business Partner
What can you expect from the HR Business Partner position at Huisman?
Our HR department is still developing, so there is a unique opportunity for you to come up with ideas.
As a HR Business Partner at Huisman, you are the point of contact for HR-related matters for the employees and department managers. You offer HR support on business themes, enabling the business to achieve the set objectives. You give advice to employees and management about the organisation, developments and personnel matters. You come up with ideas about various themes, such as the set-up of departments, strategic personnel management and remuneration and development issues.
You also guide managers through various processes, for example, performance processes. In addition, you continuously work on drawing up and adjusting the HR strategy, by translating the organisational objectives into specific policies.
You are part of the HR team in Schiedam and you report to the HR Manager NL. In this position, you work closely together with your colleague Senior HR Business Partner and the specialists of Recruitment, Learning & Development, Support, Payroll and Compensation & Benefits.
What do we expect of you?
- Partner with Management Team NL and department managers to align HR initiatives with business objectives, fostering a culture of growth and collaboration;
- Serve as a trusted advisor to both employees and management, addressing employee concerns, resolving conflicts, and promoting a positive work environment;
- Support and collaborate in the Performance Management Cycle, Talent Management, Succession Planning and career development programs;
- Providing on-the-job training on specific HR themes;
- Support recruitment colleagues with onboarding, internal mobility and offboarding cases;
- Support during illness and absenteeism as a coordinator for the case manager;
- Contributing to the implementation of new HR policies and HR processes;
- Analytical view on HR data;
- Understand the unique dynamics of a family-owned business and work to maintain balance between professional business practices and the values that make the company a family-oriented workplace.

You have:
- completed University/ Bachelor degree in an HR-related direction;
- at least 7 years of work experience as an HR Business Partner of which at least 5 years in an international environment;
- up-to-date knowledge of Dutch social legislation, Dutch labour law and employment conditions;
- an eye for different, and sometimes conflicting, interests and know how to deal with this in such a way that results are achieved while maintaining relationships;
- experience in a family business is an advantage;
- an energetic and flexible attitude.
Some practical things we need you to have:
- An EU passport/valid work permit for the Netherlands;
- A good command of the Dutch and English language verbally and in writing.
