About the position of Plater- and construction worker
What to expect of the Plater-and construction worker position within Huisman?
Think big. Build big. In our production hall in Schiedam, we build the world's biggest and heaviest cranes and the latest offshore wind turbines. How about a crane that is more than 150 meters high that's almost as tall as the Euromast?
As a Plater- and construction worker, you will be responsible for fabricating and assembling sheet metal and structural parts for our projects. As an Plater-and construction worker, you will be making important structural parts of a product, a piece of metal with just the right angles, holes, and edges. Therefore, it is important that you work accurately because the construction must fit and be safe.

What do we expect of you?
Your job consists of:
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications;
- Cutting, bending and forming sheet metal according to design specification;
- Welding and assembling components according to applicable standards and regulations;
- Sheet Metal Preparation: This includes preparing sheet metal for further machining;
- Quality control of finished products to ensure they meet required standards.

You are:
- Flexible;
- Practical and punctual;
- Team player with a proactive and results-oriented attitude;
- Customer-oriented;
- Familiar with VCA Basic;
- Safety conscious and familiar with safety regulations;
- Able to read and understand technical drawings.
You have:
- MBO/VMBO working and thinking level;
- Knowledge of different steel grades (ST52.3N and STE690);
- You have 3-8 years of relevant work experience. We are also open to a candidate who are willing to learn this profession;
- Demonstrated experience as an Ironworker within the metal industry;
- Knowledge of welding techniques and procedures.
Some practical things we need you to have:
• An EU passport/valid work permit for The Netherlands;
• A good command of the English language verbally and in writing.
