About the position of Welding Foreman
As Welding Foreman at Huisman, you lead, coordinate and perform welding activities. You ensure the quality, efficiency and safety of the welding process. You head a team of welders and other employees to complete projects successfully. You achieve high-quality, durable welding results and attach importance to the quality of the welding work. You consider the standards and specifications for welding, such as industrial standards, technical regulations or customer specifications. Following these standards and specifications ensures that the welding work meets the required quality standards and technical specifications.

Your will be responsible for:
- Lead a team of welders and other employees;
- Coordinate the welding process with other departments and stakeholders;
- Ensure the welding work meets quality standards;
- Register the welding;
- Solving technical problems;
- Keeping a safe work environment and following safety rules;
- Organising work and allocating tasks, resources and monitoring progress;
- You plan and manage the team to meet deadlines;
- You create a positive atmosphere and encourage team members to do their best;
- You support and guide the team;
- You report on progress, problems and improvements;
- You communicate well and help achieve project goals;
- You improve work processes and find ways to make the team more efficient;
- You think about ways to improve things.

You are:
- Flexible;
- Punctual;
- Good communicator;
- Able to inspect welding work and ensure it meets standards;
- Safety is important in welding. A welding foreman must know about safety regulations, procedures and best practices and make sure they are followed to keep everyone safe;
- Able to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications;
- In possession of the relevant safety certificates;
- A team player with a proactive and result-driven attitude;
- Able to effectively manage and motivate a team of welders and other employees. This includes making decisions, motivating the team and solving conflicts;
- Able to carry out quality checks, ensure welding complies with standards and take corrective action if necessary;
- Able to quickly resolve issues, address complications and find solutions to ensure work progress.
You have:
- Completed a MBO course in welding technology (level 3 or 4) or a comparable course with additional IWS training and an IWP diploma;
- Experience as a welder, preferably in the metal construction industry;
- A valid VCA certificate;
- Valid welding certificates, such as AWS, ISO 9606. These include certificates for MIG/MAG welding, electrode welding and SAW welding;
- You should also have good leadership and communication skills, as well as strong problem-solving skills. This includes knowledge of different welding methods, materials and safety regulations;
- Problem-solving ability;
- The ability to organise tasks and resources, meet deadlines and prioritise.
Some practical things we need you to have:
- An EU passport/valid work permit for the Netherlands;
- A good command of the English language verbally and in writing.
