About the position of Trainee Sales Manager

This role is designed to prepare you for a sales manager position. From day one, you will experience what it is like to work at the Huisman family business and you will experience a powerful network of colleagues from different departments. Being a Sales Manager at Huisman means you convert opportunities into sales orders. As a Sales Manager, you determine the strategy and you draw on all possibilities to realise it. You take responsibility by setting your own sales target in consultation with your manager.

What do we expect of you?
To prepare you for your role of Sales Manager, you will go through several phases. Learning on the job is part of that, this will take place in our Installation Commissioning & Testing department. During this phase, you will assist with the installation and testing of sold and built equipment. This gives you a good idea of how our products work and where the challenges lie. This provides a perfect basis and the opportunity for you to get to know our products.
You will also work at our Tender & Concepts department for some time. This team is responsible for developing the designs of our products for tenders or product development. You will become part of a team where innovation, creativity, quality and flexibility are central to achieving our business objectives. The projects you will work for are characterised by a multidisciplinary approach within a relatively short time, which ensures a dynamic design environment.
This process to become a Sales Manager is tailor-made, you take the experiences with you during your career in order to develop into a Sales Manager at Huisman.
Wondering if you are 'equipped for impact'?
You have:
- A completed relevant Technical Bachelor’s degree, preferably Mechanical Engineering;
- No more than two years of work experience after obtaining your diploma;
- The ability to process a lot of knowledge and information in a short time;
Interest in the commercial side of technology.
You are:
- Confident (balanced with modesty), socially strong at building relationships, and brave;
- Curious, enthusiastic and have a getting-the-job-done mentality;
- Interested in learning how to manage a project and deal with multiple disciplines and stakeholders;
- Determined;
- Flexible and prepared to travel.
Some practical things we need you to have:
- An EU passport/valid work permit for the Netherlands;
- A good command of the Dutch and English language verbally and in writing.
