Offshore Wind Industry

The construction of installation equipment for the offshore wind industry is one of Huisman's specialties. Building on our extensive knowledge gained in the oil & gas industry and proven technologies, Huisman has introduced various cranes in recent years, specially developed for the installation of the constantly in size increasing offshore wind turbines. Today, Huisman delivers all equipment needed for the installation and maintenance of wind turbines. The products range from spreaders, hammers and pile handling aids to cranes with a large lifting capacity.

For example, Huisman recently developed a Motion Compensated Gripper. The motion compensated gripper enables piling from a floating vessel. It compensates the vessel motions and keeps the pile in positon with high accuracy. The gripper can also double as an upend tool facilitating pile handling and saving deck space.

And what about our Foldable Offshore Crane? This crane has been specifically developed for the maintenance of offshore wind turbines. Our Engineering department works daily on the development of new techniques and tailor-made products based on the requirements of our clients and to be ahead of developments in the industry.
